We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of complex capital projects, from initial concept through final commissioning. This role involves managing engineering efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. A strong emphasis will be placed on water infrastructure and other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects, ensuring alignment with internal project governance and delivery standards.

Develop engineering work packages, manage external design firms, and review technical deliverables for accuracy and completeness.

Provide technical leadership and support for strategic programs, collaborating with teams across operations, maintenance, safety, permitting, legal, and external consultants.

Serve as the primary point of contact between internal departments and third-party contractors to ensure project goals are met in terms of safety, quality, cost, and schedule.

Prepare and present regular project updates to leadership, including progress reports, cost tracking, and schedule forecasts using internal reporting systems and tools.

Ensure consistent project delivery that meets performance expectations, budget constraints, and safety standards.

Promote a strong safety culture throughout all phases of project execution, with a goal of zero incidents.

Work closely with procurement teams to define sourcing strategies, prepare bid documents, manage vendor communications, and oversee contract execution and invoicing.

Mentor junior engineers and oversee interns or co-op students, fostering technical development and team integration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in engineering is required, with preference for backgrounds in mechanical, chemical, civil, geo, or electrical disciplines.

Minimum of 10 years of experience managing mid- to large-scale capital projects ($20M to $100M) in industrial or manufacturing settings.

Proficiency in project management and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera P6, and Maximo.

Experience managing multiple projects involving Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management phases.

Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes and timelines.

Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

Capability to align strategic objectives across internal departments and external partners.

Broad understanding of engineering principles and construction practices across multiple disciplines.

Ability to independently oversee projects from concept through completion with minimal supervision.

Experience working in active industrial facilities or brownfield sites, with strong focus on safety and operational continuity.

Familiarity with risk assessment, case development, and integrating safety considerations into design, construction, and long-term operation.

Experience with large industrial, geotechnical, water quality, piping, mechanical, and underground injection wells projects.

EPC experience, including managing EPC firms, budgets, and subcontractors.

Work Environment

The position is based at a corporate office, with regular site visits required. The work environment emphasizes safety and operational continuity, particularly in active industrial facilities or brownfield sites. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
