Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Lodi, California. This Contract-to-permanent position is a vital role within our finance department, ensuring the accurate processing of invoices, payments, and account reconciliations. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficiency and financial stability of our wholesale distribution operations.

Responsibilities:

Process incoming invoices while adhering to established financial policies and procedures to maintain accuracy.

Conduct daily financial transactions, including verifying, coding, posting, and recording accounts payable data.

Reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure all payments and bills are properly recorded and accounted for.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reviewing vendor accounts and reconciling monthly statements.

Manage payment batches for vendors through various methods, including checks, virtual credit cards, and electronic transfers.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies during all payment processes.

Collaborate with the Accounting team to identify and implement improvements in payment workflows.

Open, sort, and distribute interoffice mail to support administrative functions.

Provide assistance with Accounts Receivable tasks as required.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance department.

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, particularly in accounts payable processes.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Experience in invoice processing, coding, and account reconciliation.

Ability to conduct check runs and manage payment batches accurately.

Knowledge of applicable finance policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to handle large volumes of data entry.

Strong problem-solving abilities to investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies effectively.
