Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for setting eggs according to customer or management specifications. You will ensure accurate record-keeping on order sheets, monitor environmental conditions, and manage incubation processes to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Set eggs according to customer or management specifications.

Record appropriate information on order sheets, including date, flock number, and quantity.

Prepare incubation tags for orders.

Monitor temperature and humidity levels of each machine.

Candle eggs and pack incubated egg orders according to customer specifications.

Select appropriate eggs for breeder stock.

Set eggs for flock replacement and bird sales as required.

Complete and distribute all required incubation paperwork.

Input all incubation data into the appropriate spreadsheets.

Clean incubators and associated equipment with appropriate solutions and perform weekly fumigation, maintaining biosecurity.

Perform environmental sampling of incubators and complete associated paperwork.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) preferred.

2 years of work experience, preferably in a processing or poultry farm environment.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Work Environment

The position requires physical demands such as frequently lifting or moving flats of eggs weighing up to 30 pounds and regularly lifting or moving cases of eggs weighing up to 60 pounds. You must be able to position yourself to access and inspect eggs and assess their condition within the incubation area. The role involves operating a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. You will regularly exchange information through various technologies, media, and contacts, ensuring accurate communication.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Norwich, Connecticut. 5AM-130PM - Flexibility with week days and weekends

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
