Position Summary
The Director of Operations is the senior leader for our Orlando division, responsible for overseeing design, merchandising/product development, sourcing, silk screen printing, production operations, and facility management. This role ensures the delivery of innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective products at speed while aligning operational execution with Spirit Jersey's digital transformation and supply chain modernization initiatives.
This position integrates technology, workflow discipline, strategic sourcing, and operational leadership to enable us to function as a fully self-contained product engine. The Director drives excellence in daily operations, calendar accountability, digital tools adoption, margin management, vendor partnerships, and team development. It is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who can both build and scale a new operational hub while maintaining high standards in quality, speed, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Orlando operational organization, including Senior Designer, Merchandiser/PD, Senior Sourcing Manager, silk screen department leadership and staff, and production floor teams
Hire, train, and manage the silk screen department, including operators and leads, ensuring best-in-class quality, consistency, capacity planning, and equipment utilization
Oversee daily production schedules across design, PD, sourcing, sewing, silk screen printing, QC, and shipping, ensuring clear communication, smooth handoffs, and timely outputs
Conduct daily standups or huddles with department leads to review WIP, production priorities, staffing, and potential bottlenecks
Manage seasonal product development and production calendars with discipline, ensuring milestone adherence and alignment across all functions
Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle: design handoff, development, costing, sampling, embellishment execution, approvals, purchasing, production, QC, and delivery
Own daily WIP visibility and production flow, making real-time adjustments to schedules, staffing, and priorities to keep delivery timelines on track
Implement and enforce daily use of ERP (A2000) and PLM (Centric) systems to ensure accurate costing, WIP tracking, purchase order management, and reporting
Deliver weekly operational dashboards on margins, capacity utilization, silk screen output, calendar compliance, sourcing performance, and production KPIs
Build and manage vendor relationships with a focus on technical fabric development, sewing capabilities, embellishment expertise, and on-time delivery
Manage cost and margin performance, ensuring sourcing, production, and embellishment decisions align with financial targets
Oversee quality control processes, implementing checkpoints throughout blank intake, printing, and final inspection to ensure product standards are met
Ensure compliance with licensing, branding, safety, labor, and regulatory standards, including OSHA and chemical handling requirements for printing
Manage daily facility operations, including equipment uptime, maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
Establish and document SOPs across all departments to drive consistency, training, and scalability
Build, mentor, and develop the Orlando team, fostering strong communication rhythms and a high-performance culture
Serve as the strategic-operational bridge between Orlando and LA headquarters, escalating systemic issues early and contributing to long-term footprint and capacity planning

Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of experience in apparel product operations, sourcing, and/or production, with leadership roles across multiple functions
Deep technical knowledge of fabrics, sewing construction, embellishment, silk screen printing, and full-cycle production from development to delivery
Demonstrated experience hiring, training, and managing silk screen printing teams, with hands-on understanding of screen-printing processes, inks, machinery, curing, registration, and production workflows
Proven supplier development and management experience across domestic and international vendors
Strong track record of daily operations leadership, including scheduling, capacity planning, WIP management, production floor oversight, QC, and safety compliance
Experienced in managing cost and margin performance through sourcing, operational efficiency, and calendar control
Proficiency in ERP and PLM systems (preferably A2000 and Centric), with demonstrated ability to drive digital adoption for real-time visibility and decision-making
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a growth or transformation environment
Background in licensed, resort, or branded apparel preferred
Strategic thinker with operational discipline and a hands-on leadership style
Based in Orlando, with regular in-person participation in line reviews and cross-functional planning sessions
Salary Range
$USD annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
