KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Market Relations to join our Tax organization.Responsibilities:
Develop relationships with C-level executives, board members, and alumni within KPMG's Private Practice clients; target whitespace growth at existing accounts as well as greenfield accounts
Meet specific business relationship goals for assigned market and report and measure progress against quarterly goals with national and industry leadership and performance manager
Maintaining a deep understanding about assigned market by monitoring recent and anticipated funding activities, key role changes, competitive intelligence, emerging segments, and co-sponsorship opportunities
Facilitate direct referrals or endorsements from priority Venture Capital Firms, both within and outside assigned market, by leveraging relationships with Limited Partners (LP), General Partners (GP), and Heads of Platform
Enhance market intelligence on Venture Capital-backed companies through relationship building at both the company and board levels; generate direct referrals or endorsements from other ecosystem service providers, including venture bankers, lawyers, second-tier audit firms, outsourced accounting firms, CFO firms, and more
Coordinate relationship building activities with appropriate partners, engagement managers, subject-matter professionals, and other KPMG personnel on the engagement team(s) to help ensure they are well advised on important matters; participate in proposal development, focusing on the KPMG value proposition, key differentiators, and win themes
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environmentQualifications:
Minimum ten years of recent demonstrated experience in the emerging company ecosystem selling financial services products in a position requiring the management of corporate accounts
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business or a related field
Possess a well-established and extensive network within both the local market and the national private company ecosystem, encompassing key relationships with venture capital LP/GP, CEOs, founders, finance professionals of private (VC-backed) companies
Experienced in engaging with heads of platforms, outsourced accounting and CFO firms, professional employer organizations (PEOs), second-tier audit firms, and influential ecosystem stakeholders; strong touchpoints into the geography to gather insights, facilitating impactful partnerships and market intelligence
Understanding complex content and proven ability to relate content around industry issues, client needs, and KPMG service offerings; ability to discuss fundraising activities, capital structure alternatives and standard term sheets
Experience developing and leading relationship building activities with C- Level executives, and demonstrated success in identifying, initiating, and nurturing new or on-going business opportunities, Travel as necessary
