Summary
You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the Crane Maintenance Division (C/730) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Duties
Help
You will plan and execute the repair of all @types of cranes such as: bridge, truck, portal, floating or other heavy mobile equipment.
You will use instructions and guidance to communicate proper work methods and safety regulations.
You will determine work methods, sequences, tools, and equipment to use in making the extensive repairs to the cranes and heavy mobile equipment.
You will conduct appropriate operational test to ensure acceptable quality and satisfactory work completion.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
