Accounting Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Work Environment

Monday through Friday schedule.

On-Site

Occasional job site visits or meetings with project managers.

Overview

We're hiring an Accounting Manager to lead financial operations. This role oversees job costing, payroll, billing, A/P and A/R, and financial reporting. You'll support project teams with cost analysis and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting functions and month/year-end close

Prepare WIP and job cost reports; analyze variances

Monitor project budgets, profitability, and cash flow

Oversee subcontractor compliance and AIA billing

Maintain cost codes and expense allocations

Ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance

Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with project teams

Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and insurance providers

Improve processes and internal controls

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)

5+ years accounting experience, 2+ in management

Construction industry experience required

Proficient in Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Foundation, or QuickBooks

Strong Excel and job costing skills

Excellent communication and leadership abilities
