Our work depends on you joining our team to help GDIT meet the mission-critical needs of our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customer by assessing programs for opportunities to innovate and modernize developing technical solutions, and leading solution integration on large programs.
GDIT is seeking a highly motivated Technology Consultant to join our team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical infrastructure and programs for our CBP customers. The successful candidate will support the Account Lead and program teams in developing, implementing, and maintaining critical IT systems. The role involves analyzing mission requirements, providing subject matter expertise, and assisting with technology modernization efforts to enhance CBP's operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with federal policies and security regulations.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
Researches, evaluates, and provides recommendations on emerging technologies and best practices to improve mission performance, capabilities, and system efficiency.
Drives customer stakeholder engagements and communications at executive, programmatic and end user levels
Facilitates development of mission use cases and identification of established and derived requirements
Interfaces with Account Lead and GDIT cross-domain technical teams to create strategies and identify solutions to customer challenges
Works with customers and teams to develop roadmaps to update, enhance, augment or replace systems
Leverages System Engineering Life Cycle to deliver products to meet customer requirements
Supports identification, negotiation and coordination with vendors, suppliers and partners to deliver on complex projects and meet program objectives
Manages the planning and execution of proof of concepts, demonstrations, pilots, and operational assessments
Work with program team to develop financial models including customer total cost of ownership (TCO)
Coordinates team support for high-impact projects, often integrating new technology and changes to IT and/or business operations
Communicates program and work status to senior program leadership and customer
Enhances information systems by proactively identifying technology opportunities and developing and proposing strategies and solutions
Anticipates and adapts to changing trends in the marketplace in order to seize opportunities
Utilizes long term, collaborative, and strategic relationships with clients to improve service delivery
Drives activities towards larger strategic goals - envisions the future and acts as a catalyst for organizational change
Adapts to a quickly changing environment and interact with a broad customer base with diverse needs and functional responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
U.S. Citizenship
Must have or able to obtain CBP BI clearance
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT or related field and 12+ years' experience
Knowledge of biometrics identification services and multi-modalities, i.e. Fingerprint, IRIS, and face
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and get consensus to deliver customer requirements
Adept at problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, time management, multi-tasking, and task-ownership; excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record as a self-learner, keeping current with the latest tools and techniques
Knowledge of Agile, SCRUM, or Kanban Methods

The likely salary range for this position is $155,550 - $210,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
