Mechanical Engineering CO-OP/Intern, Manufacturing, Life Sciences - FALL 2025 ($20.00 an hour) Akron, OH
Purpose and Summary:
Under direct supervision/guidance, the engineering intern candidate will support the engineering team and gain practical experience by analyzing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes within the Akron site.
Accountabilities:
Support engineers by developing 3D models and drawings of tooling, machine guarding and fixtures.
Identify and implement process improvements through data analysis, observations, and conversation with operators on the plant floor.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards within the plant.
Present recommendations, key findings and lessons learned to project team members.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing/enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) within mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
Experience with the Microsoft Office package
Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or similar)
