About You and this Role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Instrument & Electrical Technician in Oyster Creek, Texas Light Hydrocarbon 8.
Provides maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintains and repairs all @types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities
Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
Calibrates and aligns equipment.
Completes preventative maintenance activities.
Checks sizing of components and parts.
Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all @types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
Requirements
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED/equivalent and one of the following:
A minimum of 2 years of Electrical & Instrumentation Technician experience, an associate degree or higher in Instrumentation, or those with 3 + years of relevant military experience.
The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed.
Must have a current, valid, United States driver license to drive motorized vehicles.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any @type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Mechanical Principles:The role requires a broad range of technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to diagnose and correct equipment problems, calibrate and align equipment, and perform preventative maintenance activities.
Proactive Problem-Solving:The ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions, document failure analysis, and collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
Detail Oriented:Checking the sizing of components and parts, specifying, requisitioning, and installing parts and equipment, and ensuring all maintenance activities are completed accurately.
Troubleshooting:Diagnose and correct equipment problems, document failure, collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
Communication:Acting as an informal resource for team members with less experience, coaching them, and helping resolve issues that arise during planning and scheduling work.
Physical Requirements
Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Wear and use respirators.
Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs.
This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 285lbs.
