Summary You will serve as Principal Technical Manager for the Distinguished Engineer/Scientist - Deputy Technical Director in NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. Responsibilities You will support the Technical Director's vision by shaping the Division's technical direction in energetics, ordnance, and EOD systems, driving innovation and influencing investment priorities to meet future Navy needs. You will support the Technical Director with overseeing technical authority, ensuring the consistent application of rigorous scientific and engineering standards across all programs and projects, and influencing technical policies. You will oversee independent technical reviews and provide critical oversight for key programs (including SUBSAFE where applicable), ensuring execution excellence and addressing complex technical challenges. You will coordinate the CTO, Chief Engineer, and Quality Management Office, and lead cross-departmental/SYSCOM solutions for complex challenges, fostering collaboration and integration. You will champion strategic partnerships and represent the Division in external technical activities with SYSCOMs, Warfare Centers, OPNAV, and the Fleet, advocating for NSWC IHD's capabilities and shaping Navy-wide initiatives. You will enable the transition of pioneering S and T efforts into operational capabilities, fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring the Division remains at the forefront of technological advancements. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (I) Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration.
