Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Arlington, Vermont. This role is ideal for a financial expert with a strong background in accounting operations who is eager to contribute to the preparation of financial statements, audit processes, and month-end closings.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post accurate journal entries to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and other key financial records.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and adjustments.

Manage accounts payable processes and ensure timely vendor payments.

Collaborate with auditors during audit preparation and provide necessary documentation.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for reporting purposes.

Utilize Excel to create detailed reports and analyze financial data.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, including journal entries and general ledger management.

Proficiency in performing month-end close processes and bank reconciliations.

Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit support.

Experience managing accounts payable operations.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.
