Data Scientist

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Scientist position for our client.

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

Leverage advanced analytics skills to address complex business challenges and provide actionable insights.

Prepare, analyze, and model data to forecast trends and optimize business processes.

Develop predictive models, custom algorithms, and statistical analyses for supply chain, pricing, risk, and fraud detection applications.

Perform data manipulation and visualization using tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Dask, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly.

Utilize programming and scripting languages, primarily Python and shell scripting, in development environments including PyCharm, VS Code, and Jupyter Notebooks.

Manage, query, and maintain databases such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

Apply optimization techniques using IBM CPLEX and Gurobi, and statistical analysis with SPSS, SAS, R, and Python.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data governance, quality, and lineage standards are maintained across projects.

Work with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD tools (Docker, Podman, Jenkins) for code deployment and integration.

Contribute to ETL processes using Ab Initio Graphs and Informatica Mappings and maintain metadata in platforms such as Alation, Manta, IIM, and MHUB.

Skills:

Data management, governance, and data lineage

SQL and Oracle programming in a Unix environment

ETL development and management (Ab Initio, Informatica)

Data quality and metadata management

Familiarity with Alation, Manta, IIM, and MHUB environments

Proficiency in Python, R, and associated analytics libraries

Statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics

Optimization and simulation techniques

Experience:

Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role

Strong background in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and predictive modeling

Experience managing diverse datasets, performing ETL processes, and maintaining data quality

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
