Summary You will serve as a Deputy Chief of Staff in the Special Operations Command, Pacific (SOCPAC), Chief of Staff Office (SOJ02) of COMMANDER, SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. Responsibilities You will provide direct support to the Chief of Staff in all matters regarding the leadership and management of the Chief of Staff Office and functions and acts as Chief of Staff in his or her absence. You will assist the Chief of Staff with the development, implementation and synchronization of plans, programs, policies and procedures for the execution of command-wide activities within the Pacific area of responsibility. You will be responsible for the internal management and synchronization for the day-to-day operations and administration of SOCPAC. You will supervise military, civilian and contractor personnel as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilize a mastery of the professional concepts, principles and practices that enable decision making that result in the development of or significantly change important public policies or programs; 2) Develop, implement, and synchronize plans, programs, policies and procedures for the execution of command-wide activities; 3) Conduct special analysis and resolution on issues related to resources (funding, manpower, physical facilities, capital equipment, security) required and carry out missions/functions in the areas of installation or base support, information and staff actions management, service member and family readiness, and coordination/synchronization across organizational lines; and 4) Supervise military, civilian and contractor personnel as assigned. A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
