SUNY Polytechnic Institute's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a full-time tenured/tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in semiconductor device design and familiarity with packaging technologies. We seek candidates with a strong foundation in microelectronic devices, including modeling, simulation, and the design of semiconductor devices, and an interest in packaging, integration, and reliability aspects.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience or familiarity with advanced packaging and integration technologies, a strong publication record who demonstrate potential for securing external research funding and who can interface their research with the department's existing strengths in communications/signal processing, wireless networks, RF/microwave/THz engineering, IoT, AI, cybersecurity, and computer engineering. The department currently consists of nine tenure-track faculty members.
The successful candidate will contribute to our ABET-accredited B.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which meets national and regional workforce needs and offers graduates strong career opportunities. Responsibilities include teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; conducting competitive research; advising, mentoring, and recruiting students; developing curriculum; engaging in scholarly activities; and fulfilling all other requirements for tenure and a successful academic career. The department is expanding rapidly, with M.S. and Ph.D. programs in development within the next two years, providing significant opportunities to help shape graduate education.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a young, vibrant, and fast-growing department, with strong expectations for collaboration through our Centers and with SUNY Poly's Pillar areas: Healthcare & Wellbeing; Materials, Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing; AI and Information Technology. Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field with a specialty area of semiconductor device design and modeling, from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization and have a record of outstanding academic and scholarly achievements.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in EE or CmpE from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization.
