Summary Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport LA. The selectee of this position serves as an Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and directing District administrative programs in support of the mission of the United States Marshals Service. Responsibilities As an Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervising subordinate administrative staff. Executing fund accounting, financial management, and budget actions. Verifying proper usage of funds through fund accounting, financial management, and budget actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening. This position is a Testing Designated Position and is subject to random drug testing. May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period. May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Verify Registration here. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Qualifications GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. You may qualify at the GS-0341-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties successfully of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: 1) Advising management on budgetary matters such as status of funds, acquisition plans, account shortfalls, and/or financial regulation compliance. 2) Developing comprehensive administrative management plans to identify goals, objectives, administrative processes, and deadlines. 3) Analyzing employees' performance to include training plans, career paths, performance issues, and rewards to meet changing conditions or individual requirement. 4) Providing advice on staffing and recruitment issues. 5) Applying a variety of purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies using purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or fixed price negotiated contracts. 6) Supervising subordinate administrative staff. There is no education substitution at the GS-13 level. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
