Overview: Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as the High School Softball Assistant Coach. The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the softball program, including practices, games, and player development. This role is crucial in helping our student-athletes grow both on and off the field. Key Responsibilities: Practice Support: - Assist in planning and conducting effective practice sessions focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. - Provide individual and group coaching to help players improve their techniques and performance. Game Day Assistance: - Support the Head Coach during games with strategy, player substitutions, and in-game adjustments. - Help manage equipment, maintain a positive team environment, and ensure the team is prepared for competition. Player Development: - Mentor and guide student-athletes, fostering their athletic, academic, and personal growth. - Emphasize the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. Administrative Duties: - Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing team travel, equipment management, and maintaining player records. - Communicate effectively with parents, school administration, and other stakeholders as needed. Recruitment and Community Engagement: - Aid in the recruitment of new players to ensure the program remains competitive. - Participate in community outreach and team-building activities to promote the softball program and engage with the local community. Qualifications: - Previous experience playing and/or coaching softball at the high school level or higher. - Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and strategies. - Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team and positively influence student-athletes. - Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination.
