Full-Time Warehouse Specialist/CDL Driver -- Tyler Area

CDL is required

Monday - Friday (varying daytime schedule)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Warehouse Specialist (Specialist) works under the direct supervision of the Mobile Staging Team Leader. This position is occasionally responsible for driving the mobile coach to and from blood drives. The Specialist is responsible for assisting collections staff with the process of packing units and customer service/donor flow, outside of the coach.This position is responsible for the accurate receipt of incoming materials to the warehouse and mobile staging, processing of departmental requisitions, coordination of supply deliveries throughout the organization, and accurate entry of data, to ensure immediate availability of incoming and outgoing supplies.

Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent, required

EXPERIENCE

Driving experience, a plus

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Ability to travel.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

EQUIPMENT USED

Company vehicles, including donor coaches

General office equipment

Pallet jack (manual and electric)

PHYSICAL/MENTAL STRESS FACTORS

Required to pass a DOT Medical Physical, bi-annually, or as designated by physician

Irregular schedule, extensive driving, lifting and carrying of supplies

Ability to travel

Ability to walk, stoop, bend; use hands, reach with hands and arms; lift and carry equipment

Ability to sit, walk, climb steps and step stools, stand, bend, lift and carry, up to 50 pounds

Ability to work a varied schedule

Noise level exposure is moderate

Periodic exposure to traffic hazards; ability to drive to and from remote donor collection locations

Possible exposure to biohazardous blood and blood components and donors infected with transmissible diseases

Ability to operate varied equipment necessary to perform job

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drives coach to and from blood drives

Responsible for departure checklist, return checklist, stocking, and cleaning the coach upon returning to center

Assists collections staff by segmenting and packing blood products

Assists collections staff by managing donor flow and customer service, outside the bus

Receives incoming materials, according to department guidelines:

oEnsures all receipt documents are correct in regards to the delivery address and delivered quantities

oExpedites sensitive materials that require immediate attention

oPlaces inventory items in their appropriate location to assist in the rotation of materials

Ensures all requests are processed correctly:

oPulls items from inventory using FIFO (first in-first out) method and ensures proper rotation of supplies

oConducts a secondary inspection of pulled orders, checking for completeness

oEnsures accurate data entry of customer orders

Distributes and delivers requisitioned materials in the most economical and timely manner available:

oPerforms periodic counts and recounts of inventory items, to assist in period end closing

NON ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drives other company vehicles, as necessary

Responsible for reporting all mechanical problems to the Manager of Mobile Collections and completing a Vehicle Maintenance Request

Prepares, stocks, and cleans other company vehicles

Monitors vehicles for problems and reports, as needed

Assists drive staff, as needed
