Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Rutland, Vermont. In this role, you will be responsible for managing invoice processing, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounts payable to contribute to the success of our finance team.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices accurately, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

Manage payment transactions, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers and check runs.

Reconcile accounts payable records to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain up-to-date and organized financial files for audit purposes.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approval workflows are followed.

Assist in month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable.

Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement solutions. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.

Proficiency in processing invoices and managing payment transactions, including ACH and check runs.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records.

Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, especially when interacting with vendors.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
