DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will conduct a wide-range of indoor and outdoor maintenance and construction activities throughout Shawnee State Park. Assignments will entail utilizing tools of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, painting, and other building trades to make repairs to structures and facilities. Within this role, it is essential to safely operate park vehicles and equipment, in addition to assisting with the overall care, maintenance, and upkeep of the equipment used. You will be responsible for general housekeeping and building maintenance by cleaning and supplying campground shower houses and restrooms, pit latrines, offices, and all other buildings as necessary. You will also tend to grounds maintenance to include mowing, weeding, planting, and trash removal. Courteous communication skills may be employed to assist park visitors by providing general information in a friendly and helpful manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2026.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
This is a 7 day/week operation. Work schedule will vary to include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction ; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
