Role Overview:
TheStrategy, Solutions & Marketing (SS&M) organization serves as the strategic hub of Group Benefit Solutions (GBS), enabling the successful execution of key initiatives across the business. SS&M plays a critical role in advancing GBS's priorities by developing differentiated products, delivering impactful marketing, shaping competitive strategies, equipping employees through targeted learning programs, and ensuring disciplined project execution. As a central connector across the enterprise, SS&M facilitates alignment, drives collaboration, and helps position GBS for long-term success.
The SS&M internship is a 10-week long program located in our Chattanooga office. Our program provides an opportunity for interns to gain exposure to different areas of expertise to aid in their career search, experience New York Life's business values and corporate culture, contribute to project work across the organization, and participate in activities to develop and expand their professional skills.
What You'll Do:
As an intern on our Group Benefit Solutions Marketing team, you'll play a key role in refreshing our public website to create compelling experiences for employers and producers. You'll gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, project management, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to meaningful projects that directly impact our business. In addition, this intern will help support our marketing campaigns and communications, as needed, providing an opportunity to get hands-on experience with marketing strategies and execution.
Help lead day-to-day project management for the website refresh initiative
Collaborate with internal marketing team members and NYL.com partners to ensure project milestones are met
Assist in development of engaging social media content that aligns with our brand voice and target audience needs
Support marketing campaigns from concept through execution
Work with our marketing analytics team to review campaign and social performance, helping to identify actionable opportunities for improvement
Assist with additional marketing projects and initiatives as business needs arise
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented student who has an interest in marketing, thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn about the insurance and financial services industry. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and results.
Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into recommendations
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Collaborative approach with experience working effectively in team environments
Interest in digital marketing, web development, and user experience design
Required Skills
You must be a rising junior pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university.

Successful candidates will demonstrate both technical competencies and soft skills that enable them to contribute immediately while continuing to learn and grow in a professional setting.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools
Basic understanding of web analytics and digital marketing metrics
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
