Job Summary
The Program & Marketing Coordinator for the Center for Community and Cultural Engagement ( CCE ) is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that promote cultural awareness, community partnerships, and student engagement. This role provides leadership in coordinating culturally relevant events, supporting student-led initiatives, and fostering collaboration across campus and with local communities. The Program Manager also oversees marketing, web presence, and administrative functions related to programming. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students, faculty, and community stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Program Development & Implementation
Design, plan, and execute culturally enriching programs, workshops, and events that foster community engagement and student development.
Develop initiatives aligned with the Center's mission to support diverse cultural communities and inclusive practices.
Ensure all CCE programming aligns with strategic goals and learning outcomes, including Strategy 2030.
Coordinate Creating Change meetings, team-building activities, and relationship management with participating units.
Plan and host the final Creating Change event, including program design and evaluation. Student Engagement & Support
Mentor and support student staff from diverse backgrounds, particularly those in leadership or internship roles at the Center.
Coordinate CCE's involvement with internship and student leadership programs focused on civic engagement, community, and equity.
Event Coordination
Lead the planning and execution of major cultural and community events, such as heritage month celebrations, speaker series, and art showcases.
Manage event logistics including space reservations, catering, contracts, communications, and accessibility.
Oversee internal documentation for events: planning checklists, run-of-show documents, post-event evaluations, attendance tracking, and archival.
Maintain a well-organized archive of event records to support institutional memory and program continuity. Assessment & Reporting
Support the Associate Director in managing assessment platforms and distributing evaluations.
Collect, analyze, and report on participation and learning outcomes to inform strategic planning and continuous program improvement. Marketing, Communications & Web Design
Develop and manage marketing strategies for CCE , including branding, promotional campaigns, and digital outreach.
Create digital and print materials such as flyers, newsletters, social media content, and promotional graphics.
Design, update, and maintain the Center's website to ensure timely, accessible, and engaging content.
Collaborate with university marketing and IT teams to align content and design with institutional standards. Administrative & Budget Oversight
Manage programming budgets, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with university financial procedures.
Assist in writing grant proposals and managing awarded funds for community and cultural initiatives.
Support documentation and file management across all platforms (UBox, Asana, Teams, etc.). Collaboration Across Campus
Partner with academic departments, student affairs, and identity-based centers to develop and co-sponsor programming.
Serve on campus-wide committees or task forces related to cultural engagement, inclusion, and student life. Volunteer and Staff Supervision
Recruit, train, and supervise student employees, interns, and volunteers supporting Center initiatives.
Provide professional development opportunities, mentorship, and performance evaluations for student team members. Strategic Planning
Participate in long-term planning and strategy development for the Center.
Ensure programs and initiatives align with institutional strategic priorities, including Strategy 2030.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus one year of directly related experience
Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
