Job Summary
The Abuse Prevention and Accreditation Compliance Manager plays a key role in driving the YMCA of Greater Seattle's strategic efforts to prevent abuse and protect our constituents (children and youth).
This position organizes, develops, and implements effective risk management, control, and prevention programs for the organization to mitigate risks and exposures related to abuse, ensuring compliance with Praesidium Accreditation standards and internal policies.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role provides training, oversight, and consultation to embed child safety best practices and child abuse prevention strategies into daily operations. The manager supports organizational readiness for incident response and investigations, conducts audits, and helps build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Hiring Range: $77,969 - $91,205 annually.
Responsibilities
POLICY IMPLEMENTATION & ACCREDITATION COMPLIANCE:
Implement and enforce the YMCA's Praesidium Abuse Prevention and CAP Policies.
Serve as the organization's Guardian (Abuse Prevention Manager) under Praesidium Accreditation guidelines.
Maintain documentation and ensure alignment with local licensing requirements and accreditation standards.
TRAINING & EDUCATION:
Partner with Talent Development to oversee abuse prevention training for staff and volunteers.
Develop and deliver ongoing education, resources, and communication that promote safe practices and awareness.
INCIDENT RESPONSE & INVESTIGATION SUPPORT:
Conduct investigation of alleged violations of abuse prevention policy.
Collaborate with Human Resources to identify corrective actions when appropriate for employees and Membership when appropriate for Members.
Provide guidance on reporting procedures related to allegations of child abuse to Child Protective Services, Y-USA, and licensing bodies.
CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION:
Work with department leaders to ensure consistent implementation of abuse prevention practices across the Association.
Manage and support special projects that advance the Y's risk management and prevention goals.
AUDITING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
Conduct audits and assessments to measure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze trends and risk factors to support data-informed decision-making and prevention strategies.
STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATION:
Build strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, vendors, and external partners.
Represent the Y in conversations related to safety standards, policies, and best practices.
Performs additional duties related to organizational risk, compliance, or child safety as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, communications or equivalent experience and education.
Experience in child abuse prevention program development, promotion, implementation and assessments.
2 years of experience conducting investigations.
2 years of experience in cross departmental project management.
Ability to create and write procedures, instructions, training materials, and presentation materials.
Presentation and proven training skills for adult audiences.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Comfortable in various software systems allowing analysis, promotion and presentation, and good computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
Familiar with Safety laws and well-connected with resources that can assist.
Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
