Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role involves handling a range of accounting tasks, including tax preparation, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations.

Manage sales tax reporting and ensure accurate calculations.

Record and review journal entries to maintain financial accuracy.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure proper documentation.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes with thorough reviews.

Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights.

Continuously monitor and improve accounting processes for efficiency.

Salary Range:

$35 to $38/hour (approx. $72,800 to $79,040 annually)

Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filings.

Solid understanding of sales tax regulations and reporting.

Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and practices.

Effective communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
