Johnson & Johnson MedTech Supply Chain Quality Excellence is bringing new capabilities to the organization with our Digital Transformation program. The Principal Engineer will lead implementation of new automation tools and technologies projects across MedTech Quality Product Release processes to drive growth, delivery, quality, and cost improvement. This exciting role will benchmark industry technology trends and incorporation of human centered automations innovations to introduce new technologies in alignment with business needs and strategies involving multiple franchises and functions. They will collaborate with various multi-functional customers and will coordinate and implement improvement opportunities. They will lead process improvement implementation in achieving target outcomes which includes chartering, metrics identification, planning detailed schedules, achievements, risk identification & mitigation of risks including coordinating and execution of organizational change and communication plans. They will capture and translate customer insights into solutions that deliver value for the MedTech Manufacturing sites and product release related processes.
They will lead all aspects of global programs including identification and de-risking commitments and issue resolution. They are a change agent leading management and delivery of global program portfolio including process simplification and technology enabled solutions. In addition to implementation of automation and digital solution programs applying process excellence tools & methodologies, they will be responsible for building and mentoring local teams on adoption of new practices and skills that will help sustain improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops automation and digitalization maturity / opportunity for feedback into roadmaps aligned with MedTech digital transformation excellence framework and playbook
Identifies next gen and digital solutions that will advance digital transformation tools and portfolio to enable target business value
Acts as digital and process automation application expert and leads site deployments
Ensures technical solutions meets business strategy and site requirements while adhering to a Global Template approach for scalability
Drives alignment on prioritization and execution plan for digital transformation applications to be deployed across each site
Represents the business on all aspects of Digital Transformation Application(s) as BPO and participates in routine governance activities (site updates, scrum, etc.)
Leads application-level Program Increment planning and routinely refines sprints with TPO / Scrum Master with deployment progression
Identifies further efficiency / value opportunities and incorporates into site builds
Owns validated state of application and leads BST / UAT activities in coordination with site End Users
Owns and develops business / application SOPs, related Change Control activities and Periodic Reviews
Ensures proper support structure in place for MedTech level scale and volume
Establishes, monitors and supervises performance measures (performance results, efficiency and financials).
Participate in program governance meetings and provide updates on progress and project communications
Establishes local governance to supervise execution, and remove roadblocks to enable successful delivery of project commitments
Support budget cycle (LRFP, JU, BP, NU) to accommodate business needs
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Engineering or relevant scientific/technical concentration; An advanced degree or equivalent in Engineering or relevant scientific/technical concentration is preferred
Experience and Skills
Required:
6-8 years of related experience
Experience with equipment / software validation, quality engineering, automation or digitalization of processes in the regulated healthcare industry
Demonstrated experience in deployment of technology solutions with multi-functional, diverse, global teams using PEx / FPX Methodology
Experience with developing innovative approaches to Quality challenges in a fast-paced, changing global environment
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational change skills
Ability to zoom-in and zoom-out for strategic and tactical activities
Experience with value case development and project investment management
Proficient technical writing skills
Ability to work autonomously in scenarios with some ambiguity & handle multiple tasks
Experience in the introduction of new technologies
Able to manage complex strategic programs with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross functional teams.
Strong relationship development, conflict resolution, and team building instincts, with the ability to build partnerships both internally and externally
Ability to coach talent on Quality Engineering principles and practice
Preferred:
Thorough understanding of digital enablement, technology planning processes, software methodologies, and tools
Project management certified - FPX or PMP certification
Agile methodology experience/certification
Experience in Process Excellence skills - PEX Certification (Black Belt)
Equipment and software validation experience strongly preferred
Experience in Manufacturing / Supply Chain
Other:
Fluency (verbal and written) in the English language is required
Proficiency in a language(s) other than English is an asset
Up to 30% domestic and international travel is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$100,000- $173,500
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
