The Temporary Association Administrative Assistant will serve as a member of the association support staff team that provides clerical/administrative support to the overall association and educators as needed. Responsibilities include serving as the office receptionist to receive visitors/customers and answering phone calls; basic word processing; supporting educators and volunteers as needed.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent with experience relevant to the role of the position.
Ability to perform routine administrative tasks.
Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as appropriate.
Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read, and write proficiently) in English.
Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities according to priorities developed with immediate supervisor.
Ability to work with a high degree of integrity, sound professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Administrative Responsibilities:
Coordination and Operation - 95%
Provide administrative support for supervisors and help conserve their time.
Provide administrative support to staff.
Answer phones.
Receive visitors, handle requests for information and/or direct visitors to the appropriate staff, office, or resources.
Coordinate meetings and events and event registrations.
Organize, and inventory office and program supplies.
Receive, sort, and route mail.
Perform general typing/word processing and proofreading of correspondence, reports, office forms, etc.
Assist staff with technological needs (connections, Zoom, cameras, etc.).
Book conference rooms and locations for events and programs.
Perform basic accounting tasks - collect receipts, prepare and review staff expenses, credit cards, vouchers, and other documentation. Coordinate requests for tabling/exhibit events. Work with staff on scheduling, displays, and educational resources distribution.
Perform event set up and break down (meals, tables, chairs, tents, clean up, etc.).
Coordinate vendor relationships, quotes, invoices, deliveries, etc.
Assist with routine communications and marketing efforts (announcements, emails, social media posts, etc.).
Maintain and organize files.
Help to ensure confidentiality of all participant information.

In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes and Association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details
This is a TEMPORARY, part-time (20h/week) non-exempt position, W ednesday-Friday 8:30-4:30p. Compensation paid at the rate of $20.00 per hour. Excellent benefits, based on eligibility, including:
