Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering a dynamic work environment with remote flexibility, requiring occasional in-office presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property and casualty insurance and demonstrate proficiency in accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

Perform regular bank reconciliations to monitor and verify financial transactions.

Utilize accounting software, with preference for Sage, to streamline reporting and analysis.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with property and casualty insurance regulations.

Analyze financial data and generate reports to support decision-making processes.

Maintain accurate records of transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Assist with agency-specific accounting tasks to align with operational needs.

Participate in monthly in-office meetings to coordinate projects and review updates.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the property and casualty insurance industry.

Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Strong understanding of journal entries and bank reconciliation processes.

Experience with accounting software, with Sage knowledge preferred.

Ability to work independently in a mostly remote setting while maintaining productivity.

Familiarity with agency operations and accounting practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
