Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 Annually, dependent on experience

Tessera is seeking a talented and dependable Electrical Engineer to support the Base Maintenance Contract at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems across campus facilities. From designing and upgrading power distribution and lighting systems to leading diagnostics and inspections, your work will directly support mission-critical infrastructure. Your commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit will be deeply valued as you help drive energy efficiency and uphold the highest standards of safety and performance.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Design, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, generators, and controls across campus facilities
Manage electrical renovations and installations in compliance with DoD standards, UFC, NEC, OSHA, and Air Force regulations
Serve as the liaison between engineers and shop craftsmen to ensure smooth communication and project execution
Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers on integrated infrastructure projects
Lead energy efficiency initiatives through smart grid technologies and automation systems
Maintain accurate technical documentation for audits, planning, and asset lifecycle management
Conduct in-house designs and analyze technical data to support small-scale projects and infrastructure planning
Lead asset inventory, condition assessments, and reliability processes including RCA and PM optimization
Identify, prioritize, and manage repair and recapitalization projects with clear job planning
Communicate effectively with leadership, uphold ethical standards, and deliver high-quality results to stakeholders
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university.
3-5 years experience in electrical engineering, preferably withn mechanical, civil, or facilities engineering sectors
Expertise in power distribution, lighting systems, and direct digital controls for automation
Proficient in communication, data, security, and fire alarm system integration
Experienced in project management, cost estimating, and lifecycle asset planning for construction and retrofits
Strong analytical and communication skills for effective coordination and reporting across base operations
Physical Requirements:

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
