The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.
Minnesota IT Services partnering with the Department of Human Services (MNIT DHS), is seeking highly skilled and motivated IT Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team.
As an IT Advanced Quality Analyst/Tester, you will bring advanced expertise in software testing and quality assurance, ensuring the quality and functionality of application systems. You will work on complex tasks under some direction and guidance, promoting best practices in testing and collaborating with senior team members to manage software defects, and ensure high-quality coding and execution.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at¿540 Cedar Street, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing IT quality analysis functions.
Experience must include:
Leading IT Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives, including coordinating test schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring all testing activities align with the test plan and release timelines.
Performing comprehensive testing of reports and relational databases through data mining and manipulation techniques, using tools such as Teradata Studio Express, Oracle SQL Developer, and Selenium for database validation and automation testing.
Demonstrated expertise in report writing and data analysis, with advanced proficiency in SQL, Crystal Reports, Excel, and related technologies.
Proven ability to adapt and excel in both independent and collaborative work environments, effectively managing shifting priorities and diverse daily responsibilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and non-technical information clearly and ensure mutual understanding among diverse audiences.
Excellent customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving to address stakeholder and user needs effectively.
A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Creating business-relevant testing artifacts, including test strategies, test plans, test cases, test data, test reports, and test closure documentation.
Actively participating in formal reviews of business and functional requirements, as well as application design, to ensure testability and alignment with project objectives.
Executing a wide range of testing activities, including regression and system testing, to validate functionality, performance, and quality.
Utilizing testing tools such as IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) / Change & Configuration Management (CCM) to support test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
