Description: The Lockheed Martin Space Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be part of a team in Courtland, AL producing missile defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity!

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support production operations.

The role will require strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Work with Manufacturing Engineering tools such as CREO, Windchill, SAP and more and technologies such as SIMIO to optimize production processes and improve efficiency

Support the setup of production lines and assembly equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and safely

Create and maintain Manufacturing Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all production processes are well-documented and followed consistently

Develop, edit, and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure that all components and materials are accurately tracked and managed

Basic Qualifications:

Experience with manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology

Knowledge of manufacturing principles and production line setup, launch and/or development

Ability to interpret drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, product/performance specifications and/or other systems integration technical data

Experience with creating manufacturing work instructions/standard operating procedures

Knowledge of manufacturing bill of materials, creation, edit, and/or maintenance

Active secret clearance

Desired Skills:

Experience with MDA or missile defense programs

Basic tooling, fixture, and equipment design experience

Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost

Experience with development programs and/or conceptual designs

Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles. Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and Program counterparts

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
