Position Summary
The intern will support the design, development, and validation of a potency functional characterization assay within the Potency A nalytical Development Team. This role offers hands-on laboratory experience and exposure to assay development processes, data analysis, and scientific documentation. The intern will collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure robust assay performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
The full-time internship will take place June - August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and optimization of potency functional characterization assays
Perform laboratory experiments, including sample preparation, assay execution, and data collection
Analyze and interpret experimental data to assess assay performance
Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in the electronic laboratory notebooks
Support assay validation activities when appropriate
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot
Present findings and progress in team meetings
Maintain laboratory safety and compliance with standard operating procedures
Qualifications & Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or M aster's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with cell-based or biochemical assays
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Prior internship or industrial laboratory experience is a plus

This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with BMS.
The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $23.00 to $42.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change.

Compensation Overview:
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
