THE POSITION

A dedicated Wildlife Technician is needed to provide field support for the implementation of Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM) programs, with a specific focus on black bears in the northeast region. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides field support for the implementation of Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM) and Region programs. This incumbent selected for this position acts as part of a fully functional wildlife management team with shared BWM program support among the Wildlife Management Supervisor, wildlife biologist 1, wildlife technician, bio-aide, and intern positions to achieve the Agency's goals and objectives.
A Wildlife Technician performs technical wildlife management work including, but not limited to: capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals, wildlife population monitoring, wildlife response to habitat management, and wildlife health monitoring. This professional ensures projects and surveys follow established guidelines and meet expected deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
3 year limited term, full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management; or
Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirement:
You must possess a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license.
