THE POSITION
Are you skilled with numbers and have a background in accounting and auditing related to oil and gas leases? The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking an Accountant 3 who can adeptly interpret and verify financial data and calculations. If you are eager to contribute to our team by providing advanced accounting services in the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial information tied to the Bureau of Forestry's oil and gas leases and other agreements, this is your chance to shine!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will deliver specialized accounting services to support the management of mineral resource leases on Commonwealth-owned lands and waters. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of financial accounting and data management tasks, primarily focusing on the processing, accounting, and auditing of revenue. Additionally, you will interpret and enforce contract compliance, engage with natural gas operators to address payment inquiries, and ensure the timely transmission of revenue and the accuracy of data records. You will also be involved with assisting both internal and external audits for oil and gas operators.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or
Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
