What You'll Do:

Update, maintain and index engineering records and files.

Diagnose performance and failure of operational equipment.

Perform calculations and detailed engineering studies using scientific calculations and the computer system.

Develop, test, modify and document computer programs.

Conduct computer simulation studies.

Prepare cost estimates.

Prepare memoranda, reports and make presentations.

Visit System and supplier facilities for inspections and tests.

Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships.

Where You'll Work: Onsite in Corpus Christi, TX location.

What You'll Get:

Intern Student Engineer (Grade Intern): Pay commensurate with education/experience

Minimum: $25.00/HR

Mid-Point: $33.00/HR

Duration: Minimum 10 weeks

What We're Looking For:

Education: Completion of freshman year in a four (4) year Engineering Program recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Capabilities: Adaptability, Work Standards, Execution, Technical and Professional Knowledge, Lives the AEP Values

Other Skills Needed:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Genuine interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency and sustainability practices

Effective time management skills
