Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale. The position involves supporting a variety of government projects, including pump stations, treatment plants, and the plumbing, HVAC, and piping for municipal buildings.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise in the design and production of mechanical process piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems for Water/Wastewater facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications.

Perform system calculations and studies for piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems, including layout, sizing, and head loss, using analytical software.

Mentor and develop junior staff.

Oversee site investigations and inspections and provide project suggestions to ensure standards and requirements are met.

Ensure the accuracy and QA/QC of technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports.

Communicate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and designers.

Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.

Seek out new clients and projects to pursue and assist with marketing efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

PE License in the State of Florida a plus

Minimum 4 years of HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design experience on large industrial or similar facilities.

Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to mechanical and plumbing systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is casual and informal, promoting a culture that hires great people and gives them the freedom to complete their tasks while providing necessary support. There is flexibility with hours for production positions. The company operates in a full-time office setting, performing design and engineering work. The Ft. Lauderdale office consists of six employees, with opportunities to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the growth of South Florida operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.08/hr.
