Overview

PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable, transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our team at our Corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

Business Systems Analysis -- Ability to perform requirements gathering, process mapping and analysis, solution design, testing & validation, stakeholder communication, and post-implementation support are all fundamental job duties of the BSA role. Project Management - Follow consistent Project Management standards and methodologies on approved work and projects. Lead projects as assigned. Application Management -- Support and manage system development life cycle for assigned applications IT&S Liaison - Provide bridge to lead / support communications between business area and technical resources for design and development Ability to incorporate Artificial Intelligence into BSA tasks. Obtain and maintain a surface level AI familiarization of technology. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Technical Tasks -- Assist in technical related tasks and analysis Analysis & Research - Process analysis for the purpose of implementing technology-based solutions Assist in various computer related projects as needed

Qualifications

Command of the English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers Typically possesses 0-2 years of relevant work experience in Systems Development, Project Management or Logistics with bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Project management experience required. Must be able to manage a single project and track it in detail. Transportation background preferred Entry level use of the prescribed systems development life cycle, including analysis, design, build, test and implementation. Exposure to Client Server and web base technology with the ability to understand the pro and cons of each. Understand database technologies including table structure and stored procedures. Ability to report on and update data via SQL. Understand limitations and positives regarding different technologies including development tools. Proficient in MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio). General computer aptitude (Navigation (IE, SharePoint), remote connectivity, accessing different data sources). Ability to trouble shoot and solve application problems where technical understanding of the application is required Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong business acumen. Ability to analyze and interpret business data and compare and contrast expected results from actual results. Must be able to communicate effectively with managers and end users within the company along with external vendors.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Minimal travel. Weekend and night hours needed. Sedentary work -- exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are only required occasionally Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information. May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others Occasional travel may be required.
