JOB REQUIREMENTS: MSA is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to the design of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial buildings. This role is onsite at either our Milwaukee, Mequon or Madison WI offices. MSA internships are typically at least 12 weeks in duration, ranging from mid-May 2026 to mid-August 2026, with start/exit dates confirmed later in the hiring process. For engineering students seeking consulting experience with building projects, this is the position for you! Additionally, an internship at MSA provides you with a collaborative environment across the firm among the 40 interns each summer. What you will do: Assist in the design and analysis of HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping layout. Support engineers in preparing technical drawings, specifications, and reports. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate HVAC systems into overall building design. Participate in site visits and project meetings to gain practical field experience. Conduct research on new technologies, codes, and industry best practices. The salary for this position ranges from \$21 to \$25 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications. Strong interest in HVAC systems and building design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software preferred. Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
