Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means for improving products and technologies, and the techniques and procedures used to design and validate them. Honeywell is implementing advanced acoustic technologies in our broad array of aerospace products and their installations including gas turbine engines, valves, motor-driven fans, environmental control systems, and electronics. Dramatic improvements in the fidelity and speed of simulations used in our product design and validation processes are essential to shorten development cycles while meeting customer requirements.
You will be tasked with improving acoustic analysis and test methods and supporting product design efforts with such methods. This includes the development of custom software tools and refinement of methods used with commercial off the shelf (COTS) tools. You will be expected to identify and advocate for improvements to existing COTS tools with our vendors, and to continuously monitor the industry for better tools and evaluate them for potential use.
In addition to methods development work, you will help design products to meet customer needs while ensuring product quality and manufacturability at the lowest possible cost and weight. You will design and analyze acoustic aspects of our product components including source noise (e.g. fan/compressor, combustor, turbine, jet, valve, electric motor), and acoustic treatment (e.g. liners, mufflers). You will also direct the design, build and acoustic testing of proto@type and early production hardware and may serve as a project manager for smaller development projects.
Some products you'll support include export-controlled technology and therefore may only be supported by US Persons. Frequent interaction with internal and external customers will require proficient English writing, speaking and presenting skills. Your work will be integral to satisfying current customers and securing future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining and improving acoustic analysis and test tools
Performing acoustic analyses
Performing acoustic testing
Performing aerodynamic analyses (typically aeroacoustic analyses)
Designing acoustic features of products and their installations
Creating and delivering technical presentations and reports
Supporting the certification of products
In addition to a competitive salary, leading-edge work, and developing solutions side-by-side with dedicated experts in their fields, Honeywell employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. This package includes employer subsidized Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance; Short-Term and Long-Term Disability; 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, EAP, and Educational Assistance; Parental Leave, Paid Time Off (for vacation, personal business, sick time, and parental leave), and 12 Paid Holidays .For more Honeywell Benefits information visit: https://benefits.honeywell.com/
The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.
