Buffalo. Account Executive. United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. Full Time.

The Account Executive is responsible for developing, managing and expanding donor engagement and increased participation with the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. This is a results-driven sales position that emphasizes cultivation of donors. Manage a portfolio of accounts and individuals to cultivate a donor journey. Prospecting high potential and new business account opportunities, utilize customer relationship management skills to target sales opportunities and deep, trusted relationships that support long-term client engagement.

This position reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships.

Responsibilities: Donor Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of corporate and individual donors. Provide high-quality, responsive service that fosters trust, satisfaction, and long-term engagement.

Sales & Fundraising Growth: Use effective sales techniques to identify and pursue new business opportunities, secure increased contributions, and support year-over-year campaign and new donors growth.

Account Strategy: Develop and implement tailored engagement plans for each account, including campaign management, donor communications, recognition, and stewardship.

Customer Service Excellence: Anticipate donor needs, resolve issues quickly and professionally, and ensure a positive and personalized experience throughout the donor journey.

Prospecting & Outreach: Proactively research and reach out to prospective donors and under-engaged accounts to expand UWBECs reach and impact.

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments to deliver consistent messaging, align outreach with impact initiatives, and leverage resources to enhance donor engagement.

Event Support: Participate in execution of donor engagement events, workplace campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.

Visibly demonstrates UW values of service, integrity, collaboration, accountability, equity & agility.

Participate in meetings as required and training programs to enhance product knowledge and cross-selling skills.

Attend organizational, departmental and committee meetings and training as directed.

Engage in job-related travel to designated meetings, conferences, and events.

Maintain established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.

Support daily office operations, including document preparation, data entry, record management, and occasional light lifting or other administrative tasks as needed.

Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in related field with 1-5 years development experience or equivalent, and fundraising experience in events, major gifts or volunteer capacities.

Customer relationship skills.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong client/donor relationships.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to relate effectively with a wide range of individuals and organizations, including public speaking skills.

Demonstrated experience cultivating, soliciting and securing gifts

PC proficiency- knowledge and expertise using customer relationship management systems a plus.

Proven ability to create and execute successful business plans that have engaged and deepened relationships with donors/clients.

Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment.

Ability to manage ambiguity and change.

Sound judgment, discretion and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality.

Travel is primarily within the eight counties of Western New York. Some domestic travel may be required for job training and professional development.
