Northrop Grumman is seeking systems engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, California.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Strategic Space Systems Division's Systems Engineering directorate. The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to:

Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2025 & Spring 2026

Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.

Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Completed an internship with Northrop Grumman in Summer 2024

Preferred Qualifications:

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelor's. $20.25 to $37.25 per hour

Master's. $29.25 to $46.25 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
