Job Description

An Aerospace client in Mojave CA is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team of qualified, diverse individuals.

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Coordinate daily accounting operations in Costpoint

Manage direct reports who support accounting operations, ensuring completion of tasks timely, effectively, and in accordance with quality requirements

Oversee team member's performance and engage in career coaching/development conversations

Oversee accounting operations to include financial accounting, accounts payable/receivable

Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring accurate and timely responses

Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations

Collaborate with Assistant Controller and Cost Accountant to identify and implement process improvements

Analyzes monthly trial balances

Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and compliance

Champion for process automation/improvements - lead implementation efforts

Ensure all accounting practices comply with government regulations including GAAP, FAR, and CAS

Represents and supports organization on special projects, including system upgrade/implementations

Support other functions as needed (business management, financial reporting)

Pay range: 140-170k

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field

5 years' experience in accounting management for a private company

Strong people management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments

Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Knowledge of GAAP principals - Bachelors in Accounting, CPA

Proficient with Deltek Costpoint ERP

Aerospace/ Defense industry experience

Knowledge of DOA (Defense Auditors) or FAR, cost pools/allocations

Experience in a rapid development and prototyping environment null
