Description of Job
Job Summary:
The Locksmith trainee is apart of the state Labor, Trades, and Crafts classification. This role will coordinate day-to-day activities replying to customer service requests for keys and work orders, preventative and scheduled maintenance; participate in quarterly lock-down testing; contractor installation oversight and participate in annual initiatives for the access control department.
Essential Job Functions:Mechanical Lock System:
Respond to work orders for installation, maintenance and repair of locks, cores, cylinders, re-key offices, re-key classrooms, and re-key labs per campus standards and manufacturer requirements,
Selection of hardware @type and style per needed function and application for access and security.
Access Control Systems Administration:
Responsible for Access Control administration, ensure the systems for operating services are current and interfaces with students, university staff, AHEC departments, third-party interfaces and campus visitors are safe, effective and efficient, including delivery of: Lockdown testing, TMA, third-party interfacing; Campus Police, Contractors, work scheduling so as not to interfere with campus operations, work estimates (labor, materials, etc.) for FFS and project requests, and ensuring accurate and current records within the records management system.
Other duties as assigned:
Support campus initiatives.
Participate in snow removal activities.
Participate in graduation activities.
Participate in facilities call back program.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid unrestricted Colorado driver's license at the time of application.
Conditions of Employment:
Must maintain a valid unencumbered Colorado drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications

Years of experience will be expressed in terms of full-time equivalent service with full-time workload equal to one (1) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) year. Positions working 40 hours or less per week will be pro-rated (30 hrs/wk=0.75 FTE=9 mos credit; 20 hrs/wk=0.5 FTE=6 mos credit; 10 hrs/wk=0.25 FTE=3 mos credit.)
