Summary
Iowa State University is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Audiovisual Installer to join our team. This role is essential to the planning, installation, maintenance, and support of audiovisual (AV) systems across campus learning environments, conference rooms, and other technology-enabled spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a commitment to safety and efficiency, and a passion for delivering high-quality AV experiences to faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities
AV System Installation
Plan and execute fixed installations of AV systems, including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, and cameras.
Ensure safe and secure mounting and configuration of AV hardware.
Design and implement cable routing, including installation in ceilings, floors, and walls.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform routine and emergency maintenance of AV systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and other campus spaces.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and infrastructure.
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with university AV standards and protocols.
Training & Support
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to faculty, staff, and student employees on AV system usage and best practices.
Respond to urgent service requests and provide timely technical support.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with internal technical teams and external contractors to coordinate AV projects and upgrades.
Contribute to planning and design discussions for new AV installations and renovations.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
