Software Engineer Intern

Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments.

As we expand, we're looking for a Software Engineer for Summer 2026. As a Software intern at Hidden Level, you will learn about drone detection, distributed sensor networks, and how to develop and maintain the software tools needed to simulate, analyze, and monitor such systems. You'll leverage your strong analytical skills and passion for problem solving and get hands-on experience with front and backend web development.

Location: This position is onsite in the Syracuse, NY office.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will...

Create software tools and applications that directly impact the team's ability to analyze, monitor, and control Hidden Level's distributed sensor networks.

Learn about the exciting challenges in drone detection and tracking.

Work in a small, dedicated team passionate about solving challenging problems and delivering results.

Receive mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback from senior engineers.

Responsibilities:

Document and clearly communicate designs to other engineers.

Test and validate software to ensure proper and bug free operation.

Participate in collaborative design and code reviews.

Required Qualifications:

Enrolled in an accredited degree program majoring in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2026.

A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration.

Strong desire to learn and great communication skills.

Comfortable working in both Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

Some experience working in Python or JavaScript.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary Range : The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $23.00 to $27.00 an hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer
