What You'll Be Doing
Job Summary: The Worker shall coordinate daily electrical/instrumentation/controls activities to support the project with the client's onsite representatives for a turbine replacement and comprehensive turbine rehabilitation.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Generator pole refurbishment and generator replacement, where appropriate.
Instrumentation and controls replacement to cover control systems for the units at the plant by implementing the client model needs. It will also address communications systems local to the plant, river system or area and corporate networks for remote connectivity.
Electrical balance of plant systems including replacement of line breakers, generator breakers, excitation, protective relaying, station service transformers, cable bus and switchgear and AC and DC panels.
Demolition and removal of existing conduit tray and abandoned cable is to be planned as necessary to accommodate new cable and equipment. Existing electrical components that are being replaced or abandoned will be demolished.
Mechanical balance of plant systems including modification or replacement of cooling water, service water and potable water, bearing lube oil, thrust bearing high pressure oil lift, governor oil hydraulic pumping unit, service air, instrument air, generator brake air, powerhouse HVAC, automatic grease system, unit and station sumps and unwatering systems.
Demolition and removal of equipment and skid to be replaced or abandoned is planned as necessary. Rehabilitation of surfaces in demolished areas will be implemented as necessary.
Civil infrastructure including trash racks, head gates, spillway gates, and powerhouse crane.
The Worker shall understand their role/responsibilities and be able to respond to site/project conditions, as applicable, on behalf of the client's onsite representatives in a timely manner and with minimal direction or supervision.
The Worker shall immediately report any incidents, unsafe conditions, unusual activities, or otherwise unforeseen circumstances to the client onsite representative
Worker shall support the construction management schedule as driven by the individual Project's schedule, including any necessary excess straight time/overtime on nights or weekends as needed.
Support site management with contractor oversight and contract administration on the project to which they are assigned, including field coordination of activities and administrative tasks related to contract documentation in assigned discipline. These documents include but are not limited to Project Specifications, Drawings, General Conditions, and Special Conditions.
Adhere to and ensure onsite contractor adherence to site safety procedures and programs, including behavior-based safety (BBS)
Adhere to and participate in the Purchaser's Stop Work Authority (SWA) program.
Adhere to and participate in front-line supervisor training.
Adhere to and ensure onsite contractor adherence to site quality procedures and programs, including participation in quality surveillance program utilizing the client's software.
The Worker shall document daily activities and interactions with contractors through the Daily Log form in Unifier. Frequency to be set by individual project site.
The Worker shall attend and participate in the necessary project meetings based on their individual role.
The Worker shall become familiar with and be able to interpret any technical specifications and drawings related to the scope of work they are overseeing.
The Worker shall coordinate and facilitate receipt of material and/or equipment delivery as designated by the client representative.
The Worker shall complete any necessary deliverables as defined by their individual role or as directed by onsite representatives.
The Worker shall ensure contractors follow and adhere to all LOTO and confirmed space procedures, including serving as client's representative when ensuring all LOTOs are performed, setup, requested, documented, walked down, and maintained as required.
The Worker shall assist the client with development of scopes of work for competitive inquiries.
The Worker shall assist the client in year end contractor evaluations for the work the Worker is overseeing.
The Worker shall assist the client in contract closeout activities for the work the Worker is overseeing.
The Worker shall assist the client in invoice validation for the work the Worker is overseeing.

Ideal Background
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.
Licensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience.
