DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for providing routine construction and maintenance services to assist in ensuring a clean and safe facility for visitors at Delaware Canal State Park. Assignments will entail utilizing tools of the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry trades to make minor repairs to park structures. You will be tasked with general housekeeping and building maintenance by removing litter, emptying trash receptacles, and cleaning park restrooms, pavilions, and grills. You will also tend to grounds maintenance and weed removal throughout the park and around canal bridges and crossings. Due to the unique infrastructure associated with the canal, you may be called upon to assist with building or repairing heavy wooden gates, vehicle bridges, and walking bridges using chain saws, various @types of circular and reciprocating saws, drills, impact drivers, and hand tools. Courteous communication skills may be employed to assist park visitors by providing general information in a friendly and helpful manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, 37.5 hours/week, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2026.
Work schedule will vary to include weekends and holidays as needed.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction ; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
