We are the Product Engineering group for the Direct-to-Consumer business, responsible for building the streaming video player (HLS and DASH) for Warner Bros. Discovery's iconic products across more than 70 distinct platforms. Our team builds the Player SDKs that provide a seamless, high-quality viewing experience for millions of users on Android, Apple, Desktop, and a wide array of living room devices.
We are looking for a Senior Lab and Software Engineer to own and operate our Optimus Video Fidelity Lab. Reporting to the Director of Player SDK, North America , this critical role blends hands-on hardware management with software automation to create a stable, scalable, and efficient testing environment. You will be the backbone of our device testing infrastructure, ensuring our player performs flawlessly on every screen, from phones and tablets to connected TVs, set-top boxes, and gaming consoles.

Lab & Infrastructure Management: Take full ownership of the Optimus Video Fidelity Lab's physical space. You will manage the entire lifecycle of our test devices-from ordering and intake to setup and retirement-with a focus on maximizing the total number of devices under management and minimizing installation and assessment times.
Device Availability & Troubleshooting: Ensure all devices are reliably connected to the network, are available for remote access, and are functioning correctly. You will provide essential on-site support for physical device restarts, hardware swaps, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
Automation & Efficiency: Drive the vision and backlog for lab automation. You will design, develop, and implement software solutions to reduce manual overhead, automate device health checks, and streamline lab management processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and QA teams to provide specialized "device pods" and custom testing environments tailored to their needs.
Global Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of remote engineers distributed between Bellevue, WA, and Bangalore, India, guiding their efforts in developing automated diagnostics, troubleshooting complex device issues, and certifying partner hardware.
Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on device hardware, networking protocols, and lab infrastructure, providing critical support to the broader Player team.
