About the Role Walmart Global Tech is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of our next-generation Marketplace technology and platform . This platform will power multi-billion-dollar businesses across multiple international markets and will address diverse operational workflows within global fulfillment centers. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who thrives on solving complex, large-scale problems with scalability, resilience, and security top of mind.
About the International Tech Team
Our International Technology team builds and supports mission-critical technology for Walmart's global Marketplace, eCommerce, and in-store operations-outside the U.S. The systems we create are deployed at scale and are essential to powering Walmart's international business success.
What You'll Do
Lead a high-performing team of engineers to build scalable, secure, and resilient Marketplace platforms
Drive the design and implementation of cloud-based, microservices architecture with a focus on reusability, cost-efficiency, and high performance
Partner with product, engineering, and executive leaders to define long-term technology vision and short-term execution plans
Own end-to-end delivery across multiple geographies and stakeholder groups
Implement best practices in quality, performance, and engineering excellence
Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent while promoting a culture of innovation and inclusion
Mentor senior engineers and provide technical oversight in coding, architecture, and design
Promote and enforce Walmart's values and standards of ethics and integrity across global teams
Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related field
14+ years of experience building large-scale, distributed systems with at least 3-5 years in engineering leadership
Marketplace experience is highly desirable
Strong understanding of Java (required) and modern cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS)
Deep expertise in microservices , data pipelines, and high-availability systems
Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins
Experience leading Agile teams and shipping enterprise-grade software
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
Demonstrated ability to coach and grow senior technical talent
Proven track record of setting engineering standards and driving team-wide adoption

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
