DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the facility's accounts payable and revenue related activities. This will involve reviewing expenditures to determine funding availability, monitoring fiscal year-end closing to ensure that expenditures are accounted for, and ensuring revenue is deposited and recorded in a timely manner. You will evaluate and assist with developing applications in the latest purchased software to track expenditure history, accounts payable, and departmental budgets. Some of your duties include preparing and completing inter-agency expenditure transactions, reviewing and coordinating account reconciliations, and ensuring proper accounting procedures are being followed. Additionally, you will assist in the development and implementation of an inventory management system for fixed assets purchased by the facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year as a Fiscal Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration), and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
A Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
