This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.
As a z/OS Systems Programmer, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in MNIT Service Mainframe Network. This individual will be expected to lead in the evaluation, recommendation, planning, and installation of new network system software, to design and maintain solutions to keep the mainframe operating efficiently, to maintain system software, and to provide skilled technical assistance to mainframe users, primarily in interactive systems.

Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT experience as a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer, with responsibility for configuring, tuning, troubleshooting, and maintaining mainframe operating systems.
Experience must include:
Supporting the installation and support of Connect: Direct and/or Cyberfusion.
Configuring and troubleshooting zSeries Communication Services VTAM, TCPIP, TN3270.
Supporting and implementing individual software products used for file transfer and network management.
Supporting mainframe hardware and software.
Working knowledge of the design and capabilities of IBM zSeries mainframe hardware.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and guidance to both technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate mutual understanding.
Strong customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Subject matter expertise in network operations and architecture, contingency planning, and disaster recovery.
Experience serving in a mainframe tech support role, preferably as a mainframe network tech support person.
Experience with FTP-ATTLS (FTP using application transparent TLS).
Ability to set up and troubleshoot native file transfer products such as FTP and SFTP.
Willingness and ability to serve in an on-call rotation with other team members.
Knowledge of client/server technology across multiple platforms (mainframe, midrange, PC's).
Knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows and Linux) to troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity issues on the host.
Knowledge of multiple computing platforms, including mainframe and cloud environments.
Familiarity with privileged access/user management (ETF/A).
Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
